Alsancak is a real animated cultural and commercial neighborhood of the city. You can easily reach the centre of the city without using any vehicles.
Kültürpark(Fuar) is only 20 minutes away of Alsancak. When you take the Basmane gate of the Kültürpark you reach the ancient border of Izmir. Basmane Rail Station is one of the oldest buildings. After the Little Hotels Street which is restored recently, you arrive to Agora, the Centrum of the ancient Izmir. At the opposite side of Agora, you will see one of the entries of Kemeraltı, the famous traditional bazaar of İzmir. Kemeraltı is a combination of the ancient and new shops, herbalists, jewelry stores, gift shops, antique stores, carpenters, patisseries, and all other kind of stores, where you can find the cheapest and best quality of almost everything. You can spend hours in this largest bazaar, without realizing the time. Kızlaragası Khan is also situated in Kemeraltı. Outwards of hundreds of little stores, Kızlaragası is a place where you can your drink your traditional Turkish coffee in tranquility.
